The OEM shocks on the Savage are not too good, I've found out like you that bumps can launch my butt right off the seat. See my listing on shocks a ways back on the site for Koni shock options, if you have the $300 that is. I don't, and am still bouncing around on the stockers, set at position 4. Seems to work best for my 220 lb frame.
